Sun opposed Mars - Bipolar Overwhelm

The web is awash with Astronomy this week as Sun and Mars move into opposition.
Mars is the bright ruby planet not too far from gold Jupiter (when viewed with naked-eye).
And a full Moon, in Sagittarius, will be pulling tides and stirring up energy.
Astrologically, this combination can create a kind of bipolar frenzy: less overwhelming for those with natal Gemini, Sagittarius planets; more for those less familiar with this energy.
The Sun is in Gemini (ideas, talk); It's opposite, Sagittarius, paints a grand philosophical perspective, and needs action (I think of its symbol - the Centaur: horses, horse-racing

Astrology: Libra Smooths Harsh Angles

The Moon is in Scorpio again, potentially angry and headstrong. (I've mentioned moon in Scorpio previously - 5/23/13, 8/11/13, 1/16/12). At least this isn't a full moon.
The moon (as I've mentioned) represents emotion.
In addition, Saturn in Scorpio continues to square Mars in Leo: a harsh aspect.
Arguments, especially unresolved situations, can quickly crop up.  Personally and professionally, watch out for manipulation and power struggles.
If you have planets in Leo and Scorpio at early degrees, as I have, or harshly aspecting (squaring or opposing) these two signs, you may feel considerable pressure or be the recipient of anger from others.
In general, Saturn says "stop" or at least "slow down." Mars says "go."  Saturn is stern responsibility and Mars is action. This creates frustration for everyone.  Watch out for enraged drivers and acquaintances.
Check to see where Leo and Scorpio appear in your personal chart -- in which houses and what those houses represent.
The upside is that both Mercury (communication) and Venus (love) are in Libra (relationships, getting along) at least for the next two days until Wednesday/Thursday (depending on where you are on the globe) when Venus will join Saturn in Scorpio -- a difficult planetary square for relationships and partnerships from personal to business.
At least the moon will have moved as well -- out of Scorpio and into affable Sagittarius, if only temporarily until Friday.

(If you would like to discuss these or any other issues, see my contact information.)

Astrology: Cardinal Grand Square: Tension, Disorientation

Although Mercury has moved from water sign Cancer to Leo, dissolving the Cancer stellium, there are still a number of water sign transits, which will keep the emotional threshold high.  The subtraction of one Cancer sign will lift some of the depression people have been feeling, and the addition of fire sign Leo will increase energy.  And Mercury is now square Saturn in Scorpio, which increases the tension of Leo Sun and Mercury fire energy.
Today a conjunction between Moon and Venus in Virgo will ground and steady this energy, and urge us to nourish ourselves, but within the next 24 hours, all bets are off.  The Moon will then be in Libra, forming a Cardinal Grand Square.  Cardinal energy is strong, active.  But with squares and oppositions between Cardinal signs, tension is extreme, frustrated, thwarted.
Frustration can lead to excesses like drinking, which can result in risky driving under these stars.  Try instead to be as low key as possible and draw from the flowing energy of the water planets: Again, Akido advice to roll with it, distracting yourself if possible.
It is best not to test yourself or anyone else for the next several days.  Tend to your own needs as much as possible, making sure to relax and take care of yourself.  If you feel yourself at the limit with children, family, etc., now it is particularly important to take a time out.  Try not to let others get to you.
With all the water present in these transits, you could feel this on a subliminal level or in dreams.  Creative energy can always be transformative.
Globally, there is the probability of more confused, unreasonable rage (emotion-filled water squaring fire sign) fueling increased conflict..

Astrology Update: Seattle vs Green Bay

Two days ago I wrote about power struggles worldwide and the addition equation of predominant Libra, sign not only of justice, but of indecision as the scales of balance waiver as they weigh opposing factors to achieve balance.
So in the United States Monday night, there was a football game (the United States loves football the way other countries love soccer).  This particular game was controversial because of a disputed last minute call by referees (filling in while professionals arguing a contract dispute are not permitted to play),
As I mentioned in Monday's blog, astrological transits are causing competing forces to erupt in conflict unpredictably.  Anger, injustice, unpredictability are all components of this struggle (see Monday's blog).
Ultimately, one of several results could spring from this conflict.  The first is that by some twist of fate, justice will reveal itself in events unfolding to ultimately bring unexpected good fortune to the ultimate "winners" (Those deemed winners by universal justice); or (2) Libra's long process of coming to a decision will ultimately overturn the ruling (if it is incorrect), and (3) the professional referees will quickly be returned to the field, a given in this case.
Keep in mind that the workings of the sky, like nature itself, are far more powerful than human drama, and as Ghandi would say, Good will always prevail.
In a world of injustice, it is wise to recall that ultimately justice can prevail...although the wait may seem interminable, and the scales of balance lopsided far too often.

Astrology: Conflict Virgo and Mars

We associate the red planet Mars with energy, fire, action.  Mars, the Roman god of war, carried a spear, and was known for his bravery.  In astrology, Mars rules the constellation Aries.
However, in the current transiting sky, Mars is in the sign of organized, detailed, critical, and cautious Virgo.  Organizing takes time (as those with a lot of paperwork realize).
Astrologically, needless to say, this creates a clash, a tug of war.  You may feel yourself impelled to go in one direction, then stop and reconsider, being more inclined than you may usually feel to deliberate before taking action.
Remembering this could save you some time in decision-making.
