Grand Cross -- Cardinal Signs -- Action, Reaction

The reason there has been concern about this particular Grand Cross is primarily because the signs are cardinal.  The cardinal signs I mentioned in my last blog (Cancer, Aries, Libra, Capricorn), (unlike mutable and fixed signs), are action-oriented, energetic, and often out in the world.
In addition, the first planet of this Cardinal Grand Cross, Mars (named after the Roman god of war) is quick, initiating energy.  It often acts suddenly, and is the planet most likely to erupt without thought into rash action or anger.  On the other hand, Pluto is forceful, transformative.  And these planets squaring Uranus (abrupt, unexpected), can cause volatility and sudden change.
Although the less volatile planet in this otherwise fierce Grand Cross would be Saturn, which is more taciturn and less abrupt than the others, it is also restrictive, conventional, patriarchial, and can be repressive. This Cardinal Grand Cross, then, is insistent on our transforming those areas of our lives (signified by the houses and planets it activates in your chart).  It is also demanding that the repressive, outmoded structures of our outer world be transformed, as well.
