Planets Finally Switching It Up

For months now, so many planets have been in Virgo, either elevating us or overwhelming us with details -- or both. Virgo is a complex sign, grounding us, and representing intelligence, prudence, constriction, healing.  Lately, many of us have been overwhelmed with Virgo must-dos, as well as restricted from moving ahead.
     Now although the Sun as well has moved into Virgo, significant planet Venus has progressed into Libra (sign of balance, harmony, music and art) and Jupiter is in late degree Virgo and will progress into Libra in the near future.
     Concurrently, Saturn and Mars are in wide conjunction in Sagittarius, the happiest and least incendiary fire sign (ruled by Jupiter's luck). However, Uranus is still in Aries, the most incendiary fire sign.  There may still be drama and additional flare-ups, as well as more violent upheaval.
     Ironically, it's the remaining Virgo planets that can, and probably will, at least, contain (if not stop) sudden flare-ups -- as well as keep us grounded.
      

Astrology: Dicey Cardinal Grand Cross & Lunar Eclipse

       A Lunar Eclipse initiates change.  It could be an event that causes the end, renewal, or beginning of a relationship. (I've mentioned situations like a client who found her boyfriend with someone else the night of an eclipse.)
       On April 14-15 the first full Lunar Eclipse of 2014 will be in late Libra.

       The energy of an eclipse is elemental and crackles like lightning. An eclipse is more powerful than a full moon. (And we know that emergency rooms fill up on a full moon.)  

        In the case of my client's relationship, the new lamp he had given her shorted out like a sparkler.
        This is the kind of energy we're looking at here -- not to be taken lightly.

        But it's best not to look for trouble: rather, to be aware of possible change, including danger. Don't ignore gut instincts. We can sense violence coming, especially those of us who attract it (ex: Pluto-Mars natally conjunct).

Astrology: What's Going on in Egypt?

As astrologers often write, outer planets like Uranus and Pluto often correspond with world events. They posit that the Square (extreme tension) between these two planets is indicative of revolt (Uranus in Aries) (Aries ruled by Mars) against traditional, entrenched systems (Pluto in Capricorn) (Capricorn ruled by Saturn).
   I've been thinking about Egypt and changing events there, and now -- stalemate -- after massacres less publicized than the initial attention given to the uprising against Mubarak.  Some, though not all, analysts speculate that conditions in Egypt are unlikely to improve for a long while: that, in fact, it is worse politically, and life there far more dangerous for most Egyptians than when Mubarak was in power.
   Looking at this astrologically, the Uranus-Pluto square continues, though at times it is wider, and at others-- tighter: the latter making political conditions worldwide less stable and disruption more intense. Eventually, it is meant to dis-empower corrupt leadership and bring about a better planet. But in the meantime, it can cause violence and prolonged struggle.
