Misfit" usually has a negative connotation. Do you call yourself a misfit (because you don't fit the norm), or does it mean you're someone who has heard their own internal drum, and followed the drumbeat of their own life? If you don't have a "normal" lifestyle (say, you're 40 or 50 and single for whatever reason (divorced, never married, or whatever), or have children, or don't have children, does that make you a misfit, or a person who has followed their own drummer?
