Astrology: Solstice: Shine a Light

Despite the renewal Solstice brings on the 21st, chaotic outbursts continue worldwide.
Although the Cardinal Grand Cross that has plagued us is no longer prominent, its remnants remain in the rigid Capricorn-Aries square of Pluto and Uranus. Revolution is momentarily overshadowed by convention.
Capricorn often represents the status-quo (powers that be). Now there are several planets (a stellium) in Capricorn.  This means tradition will prevail during these holidays.
The upside is the comfort and order that holidays can inspire: from religious rituals to pilgrimages, decorations to comforting foods -- for those who are not in desperate or dangerous circumstances. Under this Capricorn stellium, deprivation and oppression can be overwhelming.
This is apparent globally in continuing struggles for much needed change, which have been suppressed in the past year.

For now, hope and patience are essential. Lighting a candle this solstice symbolizes a new start. Or plant the seeds of a new life with an offering to often unseen positive forces. Native Americans offer tobacco to Mother Earth. Others may offer prayer.
Try to let the light that is in each of us shine. No matter how unlikely it may seem, believe in a new beginning.
