Astrology: Solar Eclipse May 20: Dramatic Change

The Solar Eclipse on Sunday, May 20, is in Gemini, which is ruled by Mercury and signifies not only communication but also duality (constellation Gemini represents twins. As an example of Gemini's duality, a person with natal Venus in Gemini will be more likely to have two loves; a person with Moon in Gemini will tend to have moods that change like sun and shadow.)
In the case of May 20, not only will the Sun enter Gemini, but the Moon as well.  In addition, Venus is also in Gemini.  This planetary trio in Gemini means events that occur in twos, and/or one event triggering another.  Also, both the Moon and Venus represent emotions, feelings, and love, so ambivalence may be present for at least a couple of days after the eclipse.
Gemini being a new moon means a time to set an intention for what you want in life.
A Solar Eclipse usually refers to planetary/sociopolitical change. It can indicate meterologic events  (For example, as I write this, there is a tropical storm brewing on the eastern coast of the US.  Other Solar Eclipses have brought earthquakes and typhoons, as well as political power changes worldwide.)
But the addition of both the Sun and Moon entering Gemini simultaneously on the 20th adds  the Moon's personal, emotional tone to the magnitude of this eclipse.
Also, there is a square between Uranus and Pluto, adding tension to the mix, as I referred to several times in last summer's posts.
Finally, before the Moon enters Gemini later in the day on May 20, it will be Void of Course.  So it is not a day to take on a project or challenge.  Better to spend time doing things you enjoy, and postpone major agendas for the next day, or a few days, if possible.
It is always wise to prepare for an eclipse, not with anxiety, but by being aware that an eclipse brings a round-about.  In the case of tomorrow's simultaneous Sun-Moon transition to Gemini, be open to the ideas this eclipse will bring, and select actions wisely.  Check your chart if you're not sure in which house Gemini appears.  This way you will be prepared and relaxed, and the unpredictable won't throw you.
